Formålet med arrangementet er at give Aalborgs indbyggere mulighed for en sjov og lærerig oplevelse af det multikulturelle Aalborg og det internationale Aalborg Universitet. De besøgende lærer om forskellige kulturer ved at deltage i interaktive aktiviteter, som for eksempel sang, dans, mode, ansigtsmaling, håndmaling, papirklip, madlavning og -spisning, maling af navnetræk etc., der planlægges og gennemføres af udenlandske og danske studerende. Videre vil der være kunstneriske indslag på en central scene i form af for eksempel dans, sang, musik, etc., kollektivt eller individuelt. ”Aalborg Culture Day 2008” afholdes lørdag d. 5. april fra kl. 12 i Studenterhuset og på Gammel Torv. Aalborg Culture Day 2008 – a different and exciting cultural experience After an overwhelming success with “Aalborg Culture Day 2007” it was agreed that the event would be repeated in 2008. The main aim of this event is to provide the citizens of Aalborg the possibility of a fun and informative experience of the multicultural Aalborg and the international Aalborg University. Visitors to the event will learn about different cultures by participating in interactive activities, such as, for example, singing, dancing, fashion show, face painting, hand painting, paper cutting, cooking and eating etc. These activities are planned and implemented by students, Danish as well as international, from the university. Furthermore, there will be artistic performances on a central stage, in the form of, for example, song, dance, music etc., collective or individual.
