Antallet er uændret over de seneste år. Halvdelen af de hjemløse er i København og omegn. Kun 31 procent er skrevet op til en bolig eller et botilbud. Det viser en kortlægning foretaget af SFI – Det Nationale Forskningscenter for Velfærd.   I 2007 foretog SFI for første gang nogensinde en kortlægning af de hjemløse i Danmark. Præcis to år senere i uge 6 i år blev undersøgelsen gentaget. Det giver nu mulighed for at se udviklingen på området. Det viser sig, at antallet af hjemløse ikke har ændret sig på de to år.
