Seminar Tuesday 19 February: 10:00 "Current challenges and opportunities for freedom of expression"

The Danish Institute for Human Rights has the pleasure of inviting you to a seminar with Andrew Puddephatt, who will be speaking on: Current challenges and opportunities for freedom of expression Tuesday 19 February at 10:00 - 12:00 In his talk, Andrew Puddephatt will be exploring the current platform of freedom of expression: our system of communication. Looking at how this system is subject to transformative and disruptive changes with the evolution of digitalised networks, he will be discussing the implications of these changes - for the media, civil society, democracy, arts and culture - before summarising the challenges we face today to make freedom of expression a reality for the people of the world. Andrew Puddephatt, Director of Global Partners and Associates, is one of Europe s leading experts in freedom of expression and the role of media in society. He was Executive Director of ARTICLE 19 from 1999 to 2004, and has been an expert member of both the Council of Europe and the Commonwealth Expert working groups on freedom of information and freedom of expression. He is the Vice-Chair of International Media Support, a Danish based NGO that provides emergency support to journalists in conflict areas.
